Johanna Strobel, Psy.D., BCBA, NJLABA
Evaluation Team Director
Dr. Johanna Strobel is a licensed psychologist, certified school psychologist, and board certified behavior analyst with over fifteen years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, including ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, externalizing disorders, and learning disabilities. Her undergraduate degree is in child psychology from the University of Minnesota and her masters and doctoral degrees are in school psychology, with a concentration in psychological and systems support for learning from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. This doctoral program holds accreditation from both the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). Dr. Strobel has extensive training in psychological assessment and interpretation, as well as experience in a variety of settings and with individuals at every level of education (pre-kindergarten through post-graduate degrees). She has evaluated and case managed hundreds of individuals in the school setting. Dr. Strobel has taught at the graduate level at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University and has supervised doctoral-level graduate students. She is currently the Director of Evaluations at Navesink Psychological Services, where she provides diagnostic evaluations for children and adults. Dr. Strobel particularly enjoys connecting with clients and families and helping them find understanding of any challenges and an appreciation for their strengths. She firmly believes that proper diagnosis is an important step in successful treatment. Beyond her work-life, she is busy as a mom of 3 young children. She enjoys hosting gatherings for friends and family, trying new (easy) recipes, and spending time outdoors.

Ryan Mendoza, Psy.D.
Dr. Ryan Mendoza is a New Jersey licensed psychologist. He currently works for the Social Security Administration as a Consulting Psychologist, conducting evaluations for children and adults due to a range of psychological and psychiatric disabilities.
Dr. Mendoza has over 15 years of specialized training and experience in the evaluation, assessment, and treatment of Autism, adhd, anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, and behavioral difficulties. He has conducted psychological assessments across a range of clinical settings and has been fortunate to have provided information that has been used to clarify diagnoses, assist in guiding treatment, and connecting families with appropriate supports and resources.
He strives to provide comprehensive psychological evaluations that can help identify strengths and areas of need of clients and works collaboratively with clients and families to identify styles of learning and to better understand underlying reasons for social,academic, and/or behavioral challenges.

Brett Pellegrino, Psy.D.
Dr. Brett Pellegrino is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist with expertise in evaluating and treating children, adolescents, and young adults facing a variety of emotional, social, and behavioral challenges. His areas of specialization include ADHD, anger management, anxiety, disruptive behaviors, and social skills development.
Dr. Pellegrino earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Hartford. He then pursued a master’s degree and an educational specialist’s degree in School and Community Psychology from Seton Hall University. Dr. Pellegrino completed his doctoral degree (Psy.D.) in School Psychology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), with a focus on Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Pellegrino has worked extensively with children and adolescents experiencing behavioral difficulties. He is committed to providing compassionate and effective psychological services to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Dr. Pellegrino has held various roles in the educational field, including serving as a child study team member and a special education supervisor. He balances his time between clinical practice and supporting students in schools, focusing on those with learning, emotional-behavioral, developmental, and neurological challenges. Additionally, Dr. Pellegrino has worked as an Intensive In-Community therapist, supporting youth and families in crisis through the New Jersey System of Care. His broad experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of psychological assessment, learning disabilities, and effective interventions for a wide range of social-emotional issues.

Angela Hudson, Psy.D.
Dr. Angela Hudson is a psychologist with a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Mercer University. Dr. Hudson has garnered substantial clinical experience through various roles, contributing to mental health care in both hospital and community settings. During her APA-accredited internship at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, Dr. Hudson honed her skills across multiple rotations, including Primary Care Mental Health Integration, Palliative Care, Trauma Recovery, and Psycho-oncology. Her work involved providing tailored therapeutic interventions, co-facilitating stress management groups, and supporting veterans with life-limiting illnesses. Her experience spans individual and group therapy, psychoeducation workshops, and various psychological evaluations.
Dr. Hudson’s therapy experience includes working with ADHD, trauma and adjustment issues, grief, stress, anxiety, chronic health conditions, women’s health, as well as depression and mood disorders in adults. With additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Processing Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Dr. Hudson is well-equipped to address complex trauma and mental health needs. She believes in treating the whole person, including all aspects of identity, recognizing the impact of systems on mental health. She is fluent in Vietnamese and conversational in French. Dr. Hudson serves as adjunct faculty to the Psychology Department at Monmouth University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, chasing four pets, crafting, and anything related to food. She is learning how to throw pottery on the wheel and hopes to successfully fire a singular bowl…eventually!

Ashleigh Young, Psy.D. (currently on leave)
Dr. Ashleigh Young is a certified school psychologist and a New Jersey licensed psychologist. She currently works at Princeton Day School as a school psychologist and learning specialist. Prior to working at Princeton Day School, Dr. Young worked for 9 years in public education. She also worked in private practice doing clinical and forensic work. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other educational, psychiatric, behavioral and or social and emotional challenges/problems. Common behavioral challenges include oppositional behavior, emotion dysregulation, inattention, hyperactivity, anger difficulties and impulse difficulties. She also works with children and adolescents on internalizing difficulties such as depression and anxiety.
In her role as an evaluator, Dr. Young strives to make evaluation information meaningful to clients and useful for agencies and individuals working with her clients to develop treatment plans and design interventions. She is knowledgeable about NJ special education code, including determining eligibility for special education and related services. She uses this knowledge to work collaboratively with her clients to identify and advocate for services to address identified needs.
